Het dromerige, serene karakter van mijn fotocollagereeks ‘Lover / imagine being lost somewhere in the canopy’ past goed bij de magische sfeer van het rododendronbos. Het zijn zelfportretten die mijn persoonlijke relatie met de natuur onderzoeken. Voor ‘Natura Inspiratus’ herwerkte ik deze beelden tot een nieuwe sculptuur. Door te spelen met mijn werk, oude beelden in een andere context te hergebruiken, voeg ik steeds nieuwe lagen van betekenis toe. Ik gebruik daarbij regelmatig elementen die een connectie hebben met de vrouwelijke cultuur. Het beeld van de gesluierde Isis, godin van de vruchtbaarheid, symbool voor de natuur die zich verborgen houdt, was voor dit werk een belangrijke inspiratiebron. The dreamy, serene nature of my ‘The mystery of the unrevealable nature in pink’ photo collage series fits well with the magical atmosphere of the rhododendron forest. They are self-portraits that explore my personal relationship with nature. For ‘Natura Inspiratus’, I reworked these images into a new sculpture. By playing with my work, reusing old images in a different context, I keep adding new layers of meaning. In doing so, I regularly use elements that have a connection to female culture. The image of the veiled Isis, goddess of fertility, symbol of nature hiding, was an important inspiration for this work. Ultimately, we are part of a complex entity that is essentially unknowable…

La nature rêveuse et sereine de ma série de collages photographiques “The mystery of the unrevealable nature in pink” s’accorde bien avec l’atmosphère magique de la forêt de rhododendrons. Il s’agit d’autoportraits qui explorent ma relation personnelle avec la nature. Pour “Natura Inspiratus”, j’ai retravaillé ces images pour créer une nouvelle sculpture. En jouant avec mon travail, en réutilisant d’anciennes images dans un contexte différent, j’ajoute sans cesse de nouvelles couches de signification. Ce faisant, j’utilise régulièrement des éléments liés à la culture féminine. L’image d’Isis voilée, déesse de la fertilité, symbole de la nature qui se cache, a été une source d’inspiration importante pour ce travail. En définitive, nous faisons partie d’une entité complexe qui est essentiellement inconnue…
