Ode aan Vader en buxus.

Inspiratiebron: Buxus, Leven en Dood.
Bij kennismaking met mijn locatie, de Rozentuin, sprongen de op organisch gevormde wadi’s me in het oog. Alsook de kunstig aangebrachte klimrekken. Hierdoor besloot ik mijn werk te laten opgaan in de, mij geboden, natuurlijke omgeving.
Project buxus starte 43 jaar geleden door een, van mijn vader gekregen, buxusplant. Deze mocht uitgroeien tot een struik/boom, maar is helaas afgestorven door de buxus mot. Door de dode buxus te integreren in een sculpturaal werk en deze te mummificeren, schenk ik hem als ’t ware een nieuw leven.

Source of inspiration: boxwood, Life and Death.
On discovering my location, the Rose Garden, the organically shaped wadis caught my eye. As well as the artfully installed climbing frames.
This made me decide to let my work blend into the natural environment offered to me.
Project boxwood started 43 years ago with a boxwood plant given to me by my father. This was allowed to grow into a bush/tree, but unfortunately died off due to the boxwood moth. By integrating the dead boxwood into a sculptural work and mummifying it, I give it a new life, so to speak.

Lorsque l’on m’a présenté le lieu où je me trouvais, le Jardin des roses, les wadis aux formes organiques ont attiré mon attention. De même que les structures grimpantes installées avec art.
J’ai donc décidé de laisser mon travail se fondre dans l’environnement naturel qui m’était offert.
Le projet buis a débuté il y a 43 ans par un plant de buis que m’avait offert mon père. Je l’ai laissé devenir un buisson/arbre, mais il est malheureusement mort à cause de la pyrale du buis. En intégrant le buis mort dans une œuvre sculpturale et en le momifiant, je lui donne pour ainsi dire une nouvelle vie.
