Carlota
Foto’s gecombineerd met geborduurde stukjes
Na haar avonturen in Mexico als keizerin Carlota, kwam prinses Charlotte, zus van koning Leopold II, in het kasteel van Bouchout wonen.
Alle foto’s voor ‘Carlota’ werden genomen in Plantentuin Meise. Als verwijzing naar de symbiose tussen de prinses en de Plantentuin, bewerkte ik ze als beeld-in-beeld.
Ze werden op stof geprint, alsof het wandtapijten zijn. Het borduursel op de foto’s verwijst naar de prinses die vaak borduurde. Het kleurenpalet bestaat uit koninklijke kleuren zoals bordeaux, zwart, groen, blauw, goud,…
Ik hou ervan om als fotografe te spelen met het beeld. Zo kan elke kijker de creatie op zijn manier interpreteren. Door fotografie en textiel te combineren, worden de beelden tactiel.
Ik studeerde fotografie (CVO Groeipunt) en volg Textiele Kunst (d’Academie Beeld Sint-Niklaas).

Photos combined with embroidered pieces
After her adventures in Mexico as Empress Carlota, Princess Charlotte, sister of King Leopold II, came to live at Bouchout Castle.
All photos for ‘Carlota’ were taken in Botanic Garden Meise. In reference to the symbiosis between the princess and the Botanic Garden, I edited them as image-in-picture.
They were printed on fabric, as if they were tapestries. The embroidery in the pictures refers to the princess often embroidering. The colour palette consists of royal colours such as bordeaux, black, green, blue, gold,…
As a photographer, I like to play with the image. This allows each viewer to interpret the creation in their own way. By combining photography and textiles, the images become tactile.
I studied photography (CVO Groeipunt) and take Textile Art (Academy Image Sint-Niklaas).

Photos combinées avec des pièces brodées
Après ses aventures au Mexique en tant qu’impératrice Carlota, la princesse Charlotte, sœur du roi Léopold II, est venue s’installer au château de Bouchout.
Toutes les photos de ‘Carlota’ ont été prises au Jardin botanique de Meise. En référence à la symbiose entre la princesse et le Jardin botanique, je les ai traitées comme des images dans l’image.
Elles ont été imprimées sur du tissu, comme s’il s’agissait de tapisseries. Les broderies sur les images font référence à la princesse qui a souvent réalisé des broderies. La palette chromatique se compose de couleurs royales telles que le bordeaux, le noir, le vert, le bleu, l’or,…
En tant que photographe, j’aime jouer avec l’image. Cela permet à chaque spectateur d’interpréter la création à sa manière. En combinant la photographie et le textile, les images deviennent tactiles.
J’ai étudié la photographie (CVO Groeipunt) et l’art textile (Academie de dessin de Sint-Niklaas).
