Deze installatie bestaat uit een lange shibori-knoop uit recycleerde katoen, geverfd met Buddleja davidii (Vlinderstruik). Buddleja is een invasieve plant die lokaal wordt geplukt rond Brussel.
De keuze om met een plantaardige verf te werken, resoneert met de locatie van Plantentuin Meise. De crypte krijgt de betekenis van tempel, graf, grot of ingewanden van de aarde; daar waar de bezoeker profaan is. De vochtigheid van de installatie en de gekleurde waterdruppel accentueren de indruk van een ondergrondse organische holte.

This installation consists of a long shibori knot made of recycled cotton, dyed with Buddleja davidii (Butterfly bush). Buddleja is an invasive plant picked locally around Brussels.
The choice to work with a vegetable dye resonates with the location of Botanic Garden Meise. The crypt takes on the meaning of temple, tomb, cave or bowels of the earth; where the visitor is profane.
The humidity of the installation and the coloured drop of water accentuate the impression of an underground organic cavity.

Intériorité
Cette installation consiste en un long nœud shibori fait de coton recyclé, teint avec du Buddleja davidii (buisson à papillons). Le Buddleja est une plante invasive récoltée localement autour de Bruxelles.
Le choix de travailler avec une teinture végétale entre en résonance avec l’emplacement du Jardin botanique de Meise. La crypte prend le sens de temple, tombeau, grotte ou entrailles de la terre, où le visiteur est profane.
L’humidité de l’installation et la goutte d’eau colorée accentuent l’impression d’une cavité organique souterraine.
