De Plantentuin is een plaats vol bloemen en planten die overal groeien en bloeien. Maar ook een plaats waar architectuur, gebouwen en rechte lijnen hun plaats zoeken en vinden. Die twee elementen met elkaar verbinden was een hele uitdaging waar ik me met hart en ziel in gegooid heb.
Ik liet de Plantentuin eerst tot mij komen. Daarna ging ik verschillende keren wandelen in het Plantenpaleis en in de Rozentuin, waar ik mijn werken mag tentoonstellen. Ik trok heel wat foto’s en liet ze in zwart-wit uitprinten. Daaruit koos ik er enkele om op een witte ondergrond te kleven en dan ging ik op avontuur: De lijnen en vormen bracht ik met elkaar in harmonie, waartussen ik ruimte gaf aan planten.
Techniek: collage en bijschilderen met olieverf op papier of op plaat.

The Botanic Garden is a place full of flowers and plants growing and blooming everywhere. But also a place where architecture, buildings and straight lines seek and find their place. Connecting those two elements was quite a challenge that I threw myself into with heart and soul.
I first let the Botanic Garden come to me. Then I went for several walks in the Plant Palace and in the Rose Garden, where I get to exhibit my works. I pulled out a lot of photos and had them printed out in black and white. From these, I chose some to glue onto a white background and then I went on an adventure: I harmonised the lines and shapes, in between which I gave space to plants.
Technique: collage and touch-up painting with oil paint on paper or on plate.

Le Jardin botanique est un lieu riche en fleurs et en plantes qui poussent et s’épanouissent partout. Mais c’est aussi un endroit où l’architecture, les bâtiments et les lignes droites cherchent et trouvent leur place. Relier ces deux univers a été un véritable défi dans lequel je me suis lancée corps et âme.
J’ai d’abord laissé le Jardin botanique venir à moi. J’ai ensuite fait plusieurs promenades dans le Palais des Plantes et dans le Jardin des roses, où j’ai l’occasion d’exposer mes œuvres. J’ai pris beaucoup de photos que j’ai fait imprimer en noir et blanc. J’en ai choisi quelques-unes que j’ai collées sur un fond blanc et je suis partie à l’aventure : j’ai harmonisé les lignes et les formes, au milieu desquelles j’ai laissé la place aux plantes.
Technique : collage et retouches à la peinture à l’huile sur papier ou carton.
