CIRCULUS

Installatie in en om de torenkamer van hout, keramiek, papier, stof, touw,…

Het project ‘Natura Inspiratus’ maakt ons bewust dat we ons onderscheiden van de natuur terwijl we er een deel van zijn. Het concept van de installatie draait rond deze verbondenheid.

De impact van dat samenvloeien illustreren we in de opbouw van het kunstwerk. De installatie vertrekt vanuit het water, slingert zich door het bos in de torenkamer om zich daarna rond de kleine toren op het dakterras te wikkelen. De halfronde vorm van de torenkamer wordt doorgetrokken in een cirkel (CIRCULUS), symbool voor continuïteit van het leven, de oneindigheid. De ontstane ronde vorm wordt begrensd door een bos van natuurlijke materialen in combinatie met vondsten en creaties van keramiek, hout, papier,… Een lab met natuurlijke inkten van planten verschuilt zich in het bos en verspreidt zijn kleurenpalet van binnen naar buiten.

Installation in/around tower room: Wood, ceramics, paper, fabric, rope,...

The project ‘Natura Inspiratus’ makes us aware that we are distinct from nature while being a part of it.  The concept of the installation revolves around this connectedness. 

The impact of that confluence is illustrated in the construction of the artwork. The installation starts from the water, winds through the forest in the tower room before wrapping around the small tower on the roof terrace.  The semicircular shape of the tower room is extended into a circle (CIRCULUS), symbolising continuity of life, infinity.  The resulting circular shape is bordered by a forest of natural materials combined with finds and creations of ceramics, wood, paper,…  A lab with natural inks of plants hides in the forest and spreads its colour palette from inside to outside.

Installation dans/autour de la salle de la tour du Château: Bois, céramique, papier, tissu, corde,…

Le projet “Natura Inspiratus” nous fait prendre conscience que nous nous démarquons de la nature tout en en faisant partie.  Le concept de l’installation s’articule autour de cette connexion. 

L’impact de cette rencontre est illustré dans la structure de l’œuvre d’art. L’installation démarre de l’eau, serpente à travers la forêt dans la salle de la tour avant de s’enrouler autour de la petite tour sur le toit-terrasse du Château.  La forme semi-circulaire de la salle de la tour se poursuit en cercle (CIRCULUS), symbolisant la continuité de la vie et l’infini.  La forme circulaire qui en résulte est délimitée par une forêt de matériaux naturels combinés à des trouvailles et des créations de céramique, de bois, de papier,…   Un laboratoire d’encres naturelles issues de plantes se cache dans la forêt et déploie sa palette de couleurs de l’intérieur vers l’extérieur.
